Fall into the Season - 10 Things To Do In The Fall

Posted On: September, 20, 2017 | Categories: Atlanta | Colorado Advertorials | Colorado Blog | Home Design | Home Sweet home | Houston Blog | Las Vegas Blog | Utah Adventures

It’s time to say goodbye to warm summer nights at the pool and welcome the crisper, cooler days of fall. School has started, extracurricular activities take over the schedule and crock pot dinners are a go to. It is not always easy to say goodbye to summer but there are plenty of things to be excited about when fall arrives. Here are 10 things that make fall the perfect season:

  1. National Football –Tailgates, jerseys, buffalo wings and good rivalries define the football season.  Rain, snow, or shine the NFL is a beloved part of the fall season. Dust off your team colors and get ready to cheer your team on. Who doesn’t love a good Super Bowl party?
  2. College Football – College football is not just for students. Many alums remain diehard fans and cheer for their alma mater as hard as they cheer for their home team. The rivals are fierce, the games are exciting and fans are fierce. It’s time to dig deep and remember the words to your school’s fight song!
  3. Cooler Weather – Cooler weather and less humidity are true signs of fall. Morning runs feel brisk and the evenings are perfect for an after dinner walk or a night cap by the fire. Bathing suits and sunscreen are no longer needed. Sweaters fill your closet once again.
  4. New Style – For the fashion lover fall also signifies the need for a shopping spree! Stores are filled with new styles and color schemes. Knit sweaters, jeans, Barbour jackets and boots are in season. Your favorite retail stores stock all the new trends and it’s time to shop!
  5. Foliage – Burnt oranges, warm reds and plenty of golden yellows make tree lined streets breathtakingly beautiful. Stepping outside is a different experience in the fall. Each view is picturesque with colors that are distant memories from the year prior. Step out your front door and take in the beauty.
  6. Seasonal Favorites – Hot toddies, apple cider, pumpkin beer and pumpkin spice lattes are long awaited favorites of the fall season. Kitchens smell of roasted pumpkin seeds, pumpkin bread and apple spice doughnuts. The bag of candy corn is happily added to the grocery cart while shopping. What’s your favorite seasonal treat?
  7. TV Shows – The long-awaited return of your favorite shows is another reason to love fall. Stock the pantry and get ready for some serious couch time. Time is set aside each week to get caught up with your favorite characters and plot lines in hopes that the cliffhanger ending for last year leads to the outcome you predicted.
  8. Halloween – Young and old alike love to celebrate Halloween. Finding the perfect costume and carving the perfect pumpkin are highlights. For one night, everyone heads out on a mission to collect the most candy. Sometimes it snows for the first time and sometimes it still feels like summer but nevertheless fun is had by all. Is it too early to buy candy?
  9. Oktoberfest – Oktoberfest is a celebration fit for a king. You don’t have to travel to Germany to find a beer filled Oktoberfest celebration. You may dress the part in a Lederhosen or Drindl or you may simply attend to enjoy the festivities either way you can be sure you will be greeted with a large beer, big crowds, and delicious food. Remember: It’s in September not October despite its name!
  10. Thanksgiving – Last but most definitely not least is Thanksgiving. Football is on in the background. Family and Friends are gathered and the homes smells of turkey, gravy and pumpkin pie. There is so much we can all be thankful for and Thanksgiving is the perfect day to remind us of that. Food comas will ensue and naps will be taken in preparation for the early holiday savings of Black Friday shopping. Are you ready?
