Today you already have enough to do, from eating Christmas cookies to shoveling snow off the walks. But tomorrow, while the kids are still in town, here are five communities to see that offer lower-maintenance home sites and single-level living - including some that have the shoveling and mowing already packaged in - no exterior maintenance at all.You may have visited one or two of these, but I'll guarantee there are two or three you've never seen - including possibilities east of Boulder in Erie; on a golf course near DIA; in the heart of the Denver Tech Center; one in Castle Rock; and one being launched beside Parker's historic downtown. They're listed from north to south as follows:
Vista Ridge by Century Communities, Erie; main-floor living with no maintenance, from $476,950. You could have scoured the entire Broomfield/Boulder area and never noticed an enclave that Century Communities has that's nestled up against Colorado National Golf Club in Erie's Vista Ridge. Century is well over halfway through 84 home-and-site packages (one sold to a Pennsylvania couple last week, coming to be close to grandkids) - and tomorrow you can tour a handful of homes that are ready for early 2017 move-in, along with twoluxurious models. All of those get landscape maintenance, front and backyard, along with snow removal. Included is one you can tour at 2575 Reserve St. - a large, luxurious main-floor master suite design at $519,950.Vista Ridge's HOA covers two pools, a fitness center, trails, parks, plus the course's clubhouse and tennis courts -- and the surrounding area west of I-25 at Highway 7 has already attracted a new King Soopers, with a CU Health medical campus, IKEA, and more shopping/dining on the way.To visit, take I-25 north past E-470 to Hwy 7, head west two miles to Mountain View, and turn north a half mile to Skyline. Marvella in Centennial/DTC; single-family homes and ranch plans landscaped, from $821,950. You won't find a more strategically located community than the luxury single-family home enclave that Century Communities is creating on Orchard Road just west of I-25 - at the heart of the Denver Tech Center/Landmark business corridor, two minutes from Landmark's theaters and bistros, and in easy reach of downtown Denver (11 freeway miles). Lavishly appointed models (a family-sized, two-story model and a luxurious ranch) are designed to make the most of low-maintenance sites that are landscaped front and back.
In an area with virtually no new home construction, these have moved rapidly -- particularly homes that Century has built to deliver soon. Tomorrow, you can see a two-bedroom, 2.5-bath ranch with library, lavish built-ins and over 2,700 square feet, plus three-bay tandem garage, priced at $949,950. With three ranches to work from and some walkout sites remaining, some buyers are ordering basement finishes up front for added guest suites and entertaining areas. Along with downsizing buyers who are attracted by Century's ranch plans, other sales have come from families lured by coveted Cherry Creek Schools. They're buyers who these days have their own appreciation for less yard maintenance: 5992 S. Olive Cir, Centennial; take Orchard Road west from I-25 2/3 mile, past S. Quebec, to S. Olive.
